“The Lord is my Rock…”

Psalm 18:2

To use words of hope to inspire and encourage. To reflect on God, our rock in whom we can take refuge, a stronghold in times of trouble and uncertainty.

Bible Reading – Psalm 18:1-6 (NIV)

I love you, Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
    my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
    my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
    and I have been saved from my enemies.
The cords of death entangled me;
    the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me;
    the snares of death confronted me.

In my distress I called to the Lord;
    I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
    my cry came before him, into his ears.

Reflect & Pray

Take some time to look at the words written on the pebbles – words of affirmation and inspiration. These words mean different, significant things to each of us and may bring to mind different circumstances, struggles or concerns. They are words of hope and strength, and the pebbles themselves can remind us of the unchanging and solid rock that is God, our refuge and deliverer.
